SUMMER 2013 ORDER:
Angelica (Angelica archangelica)
Source: England, Distillation: Steam distilled by small artisan distillers.
Our angelica essential oil is distilled in The Fens of England from fresh, naturally grown roots. It is a natural blood thinner and cleanser, and strengthening to the circulatory system. It is also an effective lymph cleanser. It is well known for its beneficial effects on the endocrine system and for balancing hormones, making it a strong addition to any blend for PMS, menopausal symptoms, or menstrual discomfort.
Angelica can open energy flow between the mental level and the spiritual level of consciousness. It strengthens the connection from the everyday consciousness of our personalities to the higher levels of awareness, helping us to see a broader perspective and empowering choice in our lives. When regenerating a weakened heart condition, power of choice is a key element to transmute the pattern of being trapped with no way out.
Angelica enhances the memory, opens and clears the mind. It enhances the dream state and helps one to remember dreams. It also enhances meditation and visions. It is especially attuned to the higher chakras, and will open and expand the brow, throat, and crown chakras. Angelica has a profound action on the etheric or “blueprint” level of the human energy field, and supports cellular and DNA level healing.
Bay (Pimenta racemosa)
Source: Jamaica, Distillation: Steam distilled from fresh leaves
Bay essential oil is sometimes called “Bay Rum oil” due to the use of this oil in Bay Rum as a flavoring agent. Bay laurel is often confused with this oil. It is similar, from the same family, but a different species and thus a different oil.
Bay Oil has a masculine aroma appeal, and is great for shaving products, men’s cologne, and men’s oil blends. It is a stimulating oil that increases lymphatic and blood circulation. It makes a good treatment for wounds, sprains, strains, and as a massage therapy oil. It helps relieve neuralgia when applied topically.
It is a fine treatment for dandruff and oily scalp, for which it can be added to shampoo or applied topically.
Adirondack Birch (Betula lenta)
Source: Adirondack Mountains of New York, USA, Distillation: Steam distilled from the bark of wild trees.
Birch bark must be soaked for 12 hours before production. Typically, it produces very low quantities of an oil that has a heavier molecular weight than water. This makes it harder to separate, as the oil sinks to the bottom leaving the water/hydrosol on top, unlike most essential oils.
The quality of this oil is quite amazing. It is noticeably more complex than the oils available on the open market.
Birch is a diuretic, relieving edema and water weight; it helps to reduce cellulite when combined with a cleansing diet. It helps the body release and cleanse stored toxins, and has a purifying effect on tissue, especially stored water and fat.
It is known for its affinity to bone tissue; it helps stimulate bone growth, heals decalcification, and bone spurs, and strengthens bone. It is also a disinfectant, and improves breathing when passages are congested. It is healing to lungs and bronchial tubes.
The aroma of birch is similar to wintergreen, a cool, sweet scent reminiscent of old fashioned candy. Birch can be inhaled, and brings a bright and happy energy when diffused.
Black Pepper (Piper nigrum)
Source: Indonesia, Distillation: Steam distilled from certified organic berries.
One of the greatest massage oils from the plant kingdom; black pepper stimulates circulation, treating muscle pain, arthritis, injuries, and neuralgia. It stimulates the heart and increases muscle tone.
Black pepper stimulates the digestive system, liver, and pancreas. It enhances weight loss and cellulite condition, and stimulates the cleansing of toxic accumulation from body tissues. It also increases urine production, and helps genito-urinary system infections.
Personally, I find black pepper to be a major catalyzer, enhancing the synergy of blends and increasing the potency of other oils. It carries both stimulating and sedative effects, depending on what is needed by the body. It has a warm, bright and friendly aroma that is appealing to almost everyone.
Black Seed Oil (Made from seeds of black cumin plants, aka love-in-a-mist, kalonji)
Source: Egypt, Distillation: Cold-pressed.
I love the flavor of this oil, which is part essential oil and part fatty oil. It is a great addition to foods to bring a Middle Eastern flavor. This is the real thing, not the diluted variety commonly sold. For best flavor, it is wise to dilute with 2 or 3 parts olive oil if you are using it for the first time, until you are used to the intensity of the flavor.
Called Habbakul barraka, the “seed of blessing”, it is believed in the Middle East to heal almost everything. Especially helpful in hormone balancing conditions, and regeneration from degenerative diseases such as cancer and arthritis. This oil is a tonic and can be eaten on a daily basis with no harmful effects.
This oil adds a Middle Eastern flavor when added to potatoes or root vegetable combinations, with sea salt and ground cumin. It is great on rice dishes as well.
Catnip (Nepeta cataria, lemon var.)
Source: Canada, Distillation: Steam distilled from non-certified organically grown leaves and aerial parts.
Catnip is very effective against mosquitos, ticks, and other flying insects. It can be added to blends to create bug sprays and topical insect repellants.
Catnip is a well known stimulant for felines, who can become excited by the aroma. For humans, however, it is a sedative, relaxing the nervous system.
Catnip’s healing properties include anesthetic, anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic, antispasmodic, astringent, carminative, diaphoretic, insecticide, nervine, sedative, and tonic. It helps many nervous disorders such as shaking hands or limbs, nervousness, vertigo, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and convulsions, sluggishness, lack of reflexes etc. It strengthens nerves and activates them. It eases cramps and pain, especially connected with the menstrual cycle.
Catnip has been used to treat chills, flatulence, insect bites, insomnia, muscular aches and pains, nervous dyspepsia, nervous tension, rheumatism, emotional and stress-related conditions. It can add an herbaceous note to blends, and harmonizes well with citruses, lavender, mints, eucalyptuses, vetiver, and myrrh.
Catnip oil promotes profuse sweating, releases excess salt, fat cells, and toxins from the body. With continued use, can help tighten skin and relieve skin stagnation.
English Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis)
Source: England, Distillation: Steam distilled from flowers.
This lovely pale blue oil comes from a small co-operative farm group in the Fens of England. It has been used as a medicinal and aromatic historically reaching back into ancient Egyptian and Moorish cultures, and was brought to England at least a thousand years ago. It was one of the Saxons’ nine sacred herbs, known as “Maythen”.
The oil is harvested in July or August and steam distilled from fresh flowers. It has an amazing ability to calm and relieve stress, through application to the solar plexus, or inhalation. Putting this oil in a tub of hot water and sitting in it is almost a guaranteed sleep inducer! I have included it here in the season of the heart because it is such an incredible stress reducer which is a number one priority when strengthening the heart.
Because it contains trace amounts of chamazulene, an anti-inflammatory, is also very useful for muscular inflammation, nerve inflammation, and inflamed skin conditions. It is an emollient that can be used in all kinds of skin cremes, cosmetics and healing preparations. It is relaxing to the nervous system and I have found it to be a perfect oil to diffuse in classrooms or children’s play areas when a calming energy is desired. Most children love its aroma, and it blends very well with bitter orange or neroli, other childhood favorites.
Whenever we are in a stressful situation, rubbing this oil on the chest or upper abdomen is l like receiving a deep relaxation treatment! It will help us clear the anxiety and enhance our feeling of peace and well-being. It is a superb oil for including in a spinal anointment or compress.
Jade Cypress (Callitris glaucophylla)
Source: Australia, Distillation: Steam distilled from leaves.
Jade cypress is a powerful anti-inflammatory essential oil. It is very useful for massage, especially to relieve pain or inflammation in joints, muscles, and injuries.
It has antibacterial and antiviral properties, and can be diffused to relieve coughing and respiratory congestion.
Inhaling jade cypress can relieve the feeling of mental or emotional overload, especially from stressful events or too much mental stimulation. It is balancing to the Earth element, and when applied to chakras or pressure points, can relax the mind and rejuvenate depleted spleen energy.
Gulhina "Henna" Attar (Lawsonia inermis)
Source: India, Distillation: Traditional steam distillation in copper degs, from the flowers of the henna plant. Attars are distilled into a sandalwood receiver.
Gulhina Attar is an ancient Attar that takes 14 days to complete. One person describes it as a “good combination of roses, chocolate, and good cigars”. This narcotic scent perfumes the African and Indian deserts. It is virtually unknown in the west. It is worn by both men and women alike.
Gulhina Attar has been used to rub into the skin for improving the complexion, and for massaging tired muscles to relieve pain and fatigue.
This Attar has been used since 1500 BCE. It was known to be the favorite scent of the prophet Mohammed. It is sold by street vendors in Damascus, and Cairo, where it is referred to as the odor of Paradise. For an unusual, beautiful deep and rich perfume oil, Gulhina Attar has no comparison.
Jasmine Sambac Absolute (Jasminum grandiflora)
Source: India Distillation: Alcohol based absolute - may contain traces of solvent, not for internal use
Jasmine is possibly the most well known floral aroma in the world. It has been used as a sacred temple flower, a medicine, and an aphrodisiac.
These beautiful flowers are calming and soothing to the nerves, and harmonizing for the mind. Their aroma is balancing to the nervous system. They can revitalize and restore the energy balance within the body.
Jasmine has been used throughout time to restore hope and peace when one has experienced a trauma or depression. It can restore the connection between spirit, mind and emotions. Jasmine is associated with the heart, sacral, and throat chakras, and can clear, heal and balance all of them. It is an ancient perfume of royal heritage, an ancient aroma that has blessed many generations with its beauty.
Bulgarian Lavender (Ferula galbaniflua)
Source: Bulgaria, Distillation: Steam distilled in a small farm distillery, from certified organic flowers
This lavender rivals the finest French lavender. It is soft and sweet, with a very fine frequency.
Lavender is another oil known as “universal oil”. It can benefit almost every condition or ailment. It is a disinfectant, normalizes blood sugar, relieves pain, lowers blood pressure, and treats a myriad of injuries, rashes, cuts, burns, abscesses, scars, blisters, eczema, burns, and bites.
Lavender is antibacterial, and can regenerate tissue and skin, increasing the healing process. When applied undiluted to an open wound, lavender disinfects, relieves pain, and forms a hardened skin-like surface on the wound.
Lavender is a fantastic oil for harmonizing blends, especially combining oils that seem in conflict with one another. It is also wonderful for clearing an area of disharmonious frequencies, chaotic energy, or environmental toxicity. It can be diffused for this purpose.
Lovage (Levisticum officianale) Source: South Africa, Distillation: Steam distilled from certified organic leaves
Lovage is a medicinal herb that has been used as a digestive aid and culinary flavoring for many generations. The leaf oil has a warm, bright, herbaceous aroma with sweet, celery, woody and spicy undertones. It is often used as a perfume all alone. Different oils are distilled from the roots, leaves, and seeds of the plant.
Lovage has an affinity for the liver, and is used in liver cleansing, to apply directly to the liver with a compress. It has sedative properties and is an emotional relaxant. It helps us claim emotional sovereignty, no longer feeling like our emotions are dictated by everything and everyone around us.
The aromatic properties of lovage can help to open the heart when one has closed it down, due to being hurt or experiencing emotional abuse. It vibrates with the universal heart chakra. It can help transform old thoughts of “I can not open to your love because it makes me vulnerable to hurt” to “I love you and you do not have to love me back. I know love makes me vulnerable to hurt, and I can handle the hurt if and when it comes.”
Lovage is an expensive oil to distill, as it yields only 1% essential oil. However, it is one of those rare friends that add so much to the quality of our lives, so it is growing in popularity.
Red Mandarin (Grindelia Squarrosa)
Source: Citrus reticulata, Distillation: Cold-pressed.
Commercially produced red mandarin oil often contains a slight “fishy” note in the top note aroma, due to a natural constituent that is formed at high temperatures. This oil is free of that topnote, and has a beautiful, very light floral quality to the aroma.
Mandarin is detoxifying; it purifies the blood and stimulates the kidneys to eliminate toxic accumulation. It can help relieve edema, detoxify cellulite skin condition, and relieve water retention.
It can be used to assist in healing scars and skin conditions, especially those involving acne or over production of oil from sebaceous glands.
Mandarin is balancing and stabilizing to the emotional body and the energy field. It is a great oil for diffusing to help stabilize children with ADD or hyperactivity. It is a great oil for the solar plexus and heart chakras, and can help bring resolve and completion to issues connected with those energy centers.
Manuka (Leptospermum scoparium)
Source: New Zealand, Distillation: Steam distilled from wild leaves and twigs.
We are delighted to offer this oil once again. Because it is a difficult wild plant to harvest and distill, it not produced very often. (I believe it has been over 6 years since the last batch of Manuka oil was created by our distillers).
Manuka is the New Zealanders’ answer to tea tree. Though it smells very different from Australian tea tree oil, it has many of the same healing properties. It is even known as New Zealand Tea Tree oil. It is a universal oil, one that can help many diverse conditions.
Manuka is an antibacterial, antiviral, and antimicrobial with disinfectant properties. It has tested more effective than Tea Tree for gram positive bacterial infection. It is also a pain reliever, immune system activator, and muscle relaxant. It opens sinus and bronchial passages and promotes easy breathing.
Emotionally, manuka acts as an antidepressant. It’s aroma is uplifting and euphoric, and can act as an aphrodisiac for some. It relieves stress and anxiety and helps bring consciousness back to the present moment. It has a clearing and balancing action on the solar plexus and heart chakras.
The aromatic quality of manuka is enhanced over time. It has a unique resinous, herbaceous and faintly spicy/citrus aroma. Manuka is one of my very favorites from New Zealand, and when I have it, I tend to use it over tea tree for many things, because I enjoy the aroma so much.
Neem Seed CO2 Extract (Azadicha india)
Source: India, Distillation: CO2 total extraction
Neem seed oil has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for over 6,000 years. It has so many medicinal uses that the neem tree is known as the “village pharmacy”. Ours is extracted with hypercritical CO2 at very low temperatures, which produces a superior oil with an aroma more true to nature than other extraction techniques.
Neem is a blood cleanser and purifier, and has recently gained popularity for use as a heart strengthener and balancer. It also provides support to the immune system, with anti-microbial properties that rival the best pharmaceutical medicines. It has been tested effective against many bacterial infections and viruses, including streptomycin resistant strains. Some of the microbes it was found effective against are M. tuberculosis, klebsiella pneumoniae, streptococcus mutans, Vaccinia virus, and measles virus.
It has also been used to heal oral tumors, squamous cell carcinoma, and skin cancers. It combines well with turmeric root for creating cancer salves and escharotic packs. It is also helpful used in internal boluses for treating fibroid tumors, cervical and vaginal issues.
Neem is an effective essential oil for use in recovering from diabetes, arthritis and liver disease, as well as many other debilitating chronic diseases. It offers a natural form of birth control when applied intra-vaginally before intercourse, and leaves no adverse effects on cervix or vaginal tissues. Neem oil has so many diverse uses that it is a welcome addition to any natural medicine kit.
Energetically, neem opens and expands the hara (tan tien). When applied to the abdomen before yoga, moving meditation, or tai chi, it creates an energizing and stabilizing effect that nourishes the whole being. It must be experienced to be fully appreciated.
Many commercially available neem oils have been heated during expeller pressing, or solvent extracted. Our CO2 extracted oil is processed at very low temperatures, creating an aroma that is nearly identical to the seeds’ own aroma. If you are used to expeller pressed or solvent extracted oils, please be aware that this one’s aroma is quite different.
Clementine Orange (Cigrus deliciosa, Clementina var.)
Source: Italy, Distillation: Cold-pressed
Clementine has a fresh sweet scent with beautiful delicate notes. The aroma is not unlike the fresh fruit. Italy’s climate and the co-creative process combine to produce this superior Clementine.
It blends nicely with all citrus oils and especially with tangerine, mandarin and orange. It is a sweet, bright, and layered aroma–one of the finest of all the citrus oils.It is calming and relaxing when diffused, and mild enough to use with small children.
It is emotionally uplifting without being stimulating. It is an antioxidant, and alleviates insomnia. Clementine is a powerful anti-depressant, helping to alleviate moodiness and depression. It can relieve bronchial spasm, and may be helpful for healing asthma and clearing emotional causal factors of the disease. It adds a sweet bright flavor to foods, and can make a great addition to salad dressings, juices, and smoothies.
PondeRosa Pine (Pinus ponderosa)
Source: Wilderness area of southern Utah, Distillation: Steam distilled.
This rare and beautiful oil carries the same light quality demonstrated in the Blue Sage oil, and was produced by the same distiller. About his conifer oils, he says, ” … Artisan created conifer essential oils are gateways to ancestral connections. These trees have fostered humans and animals alike for generations and continue to do so.”
Traditional uses for ponderosa pine include a wide range of skin treatments, including antiseptic washes for cuts, wounds, and burns. It will also relieve many rashes and degenerative skin conditions. It carries vermifuge properties, effective against digestive system worms especially. It is also a great topical oil or diffusing oil for lung ailments and respiratory infections.
It is very high in vitamin C, and could be used internally as a semi-homeopathic remedy for lung or kidney regeneration, or for boosting the immune system. It contains a high concentration of natural sulphur, which helps joint, muscle, and tendon flexibility and recovery from injury.
I personally find this oil to have a great effect on the spine, creating space and initiating a deep level of relaxation in the surrounding muscles, opening the flow of energy, and having a lifting and lengthening effect. It is a superior oil for supporting energy healing, meditation, and opening the spirit to receive ancestral help and information. Inhaling this oil brings forth the etheric canopy of peace and protection that one senses in an old growth ponderosa forest.
Rose Hip Seed Co2Extract (Rosa canina)
Source: Yugoslavia, Distillation: CO2 Total Extraction.
Rose hip seed oil has characteristics of both an essential oil and a fatty oil. This CO2 extract results in a brightly colored, delicate aromatic substance that has a superior affinity for human skin.
It moisturizes, smoothes wrinkles, and restores elasticity when used over time. It restores tone and vitality to aging or degenerated skin. It can be diluted with jojoba or neem, and combined with other oils.
It is especially good for reducing spider veins, scarring, and discolorations in the skin. It is a fabulous moisturizing facial treatment when applied full strength to the face, covered with a hot towel, and allowed to sit until the towel gets cool. A treatment with rose hip seed oil can counteract the dryness of winter and bring a bloom to your skin.
Rosewood (Aniba roseodora)
Source: Brazil, Distillation: Steam distilled from wild harvested leaves and wood. NOTE: This wild-harvested oil from Brazil is distilled from twigs and leaves rather than 40 year old heartwood trees.
Though some species of rosewood are on the endangered species list, after careful consideration, I have chosen to go ahead and offer this rare and beautiful oil in faith that boycotting an herbal product does not necessarily contribute to its return to health and balance.
As my indigenous elders continually remind me, if we stop honoring and using the gifts that are offered, we become disconnected from the whole of life. It is better to use what is offered from an endangered species, and give thanks for it, appreciate it, use it respectfully, and send prayers for its speedy recovery!
This is how the indigenous elders supported the return of the bald eagle and the salmon runs when both were decimated years ago in Alaska. Now both of these species have grown strong, and the bald eagle has been officially removed from the endangered species list. This may seem like a naive or oversimplified belief, yet when one begins to comprehend the power our actions and intentions carry to manifest change, this perspective resonates with truth.
This beautiful and powerful oil is a relaxant without making one sleepy or drowsy. It makes a wonderful addition to blends for massage and spinal oil treatments, bringing a sense of calm, centering, and emotional stability. It is a great anti-viral, which is often a hidden factor in heart ailments. And it is so gentle that it can be used for massage on children and even babies when properly diluted.
Rosewood relaxes, stabilizes, and balances the nervous system, and can relieve headache and nausea. A lymphatic system cleanser, it is also a good oil for use as an underarm deodorant, working on two levels at once; stimulating circulation in the lymph glands and deodorizing. The beautiful aroma of this oil is gentle and blends well with other oils. It is an aphrodisiac for some, and has been found to assist in the process of recovery from sexual abuse. It can be used to treat vaginal candida infections, by putting several drops of oil on a tampon and inserting it overnight.
Energetically, it is lightening and uplifting. It increases compassion and helps depression, fatigue, and jet lag. It links the root and crown chakras, helping us to ground our energies and stay present in the physical world.
Blue Sage (Artemisia tridentata)
Source: Wilderness area of Southern Utah, Distillation: Steam distilled. NOTE: Artisan distilled in co-creation.
I am super jazzed to offer this unique essential oil distilled on the Aquarius Plateau wilderness of southern Utah. From a single artisan distiller who lives in co-creation with the plants he harvests, this oil is of a quality and frequency that I have rarely encountered. The Blue Sage (aka Black Sage) is the plant that grows predominantly in our area, and across much of Utah’s and Arizona’s wild lands. Because it is distilled at a high elevation, the temperature required to reach the boiling point is lower, resulting in an oil that is less affected by heat exposure, and carries more of the plants true essence in the aroma. It smells exactly like the heavenly aromatic gift that is released by picking a sagebrush leaf and rubbing it between your fingers.
Local indigenous peoples have used this form of sage for smudging ceremonies; the cleansing of environmental energy and the human energy field. The distiller says about this oil, “Indigenous cultures have used (Blue Sage) for coughs, colds, headaches, stomach aches, fevers, internal bleeding and to relieve pain during child birthing. Poultices of wet leaves applied to bruises reduce swelling.
Navajo weavers boiled the leaves and flowers to create a yellow-gold color, used to dye wool. Ute Indians wove the shredded bark into wicks for candles, and they made sacks of woven bark and lined them with the grass”.
This essential oil, in my experience, is more active on the etheric and energetic levels than most. It has a similarity in frequency to a flower essence, and has already become one of my most endeared oils.
Mountain Savory (Satureja montana)
Distillation: Steam distilled from certified organic aerial parts.
Mountain savory is a culinary herb that has recently become more widely received as an essential oil. It has an enormous capacity to stop bacterial and microbial infections, and is great to take internally as a natural ‘antibiotic’. It is a fairly hot oil, so must be well diluted for use on the skin, like thyme and oregano.
Mountain savory is especially helpful with lung inflammation and respiratory conditions. It is also a helpful treatment for digestive system issues, including Crohn’s, ulcers, and chronic heartburn or indigestion. It can help reduce non-beneficial organisms in the digestive tract, and for this purpose it should be used along with a good Probiotic. It can be great for infant colic, and must be diluted to 0.25% to 1% for this purpose. (That means 1/4 teaspoon in 2 cups of water).
Spike Lavender (Lavandula latifolia)
Source: France, Distillation: Steam distillation from wild flowers.
Spike lavender blends well with many oils, including eucalyptus, lavender, rosemary, clary sage, rosewood, pines, and sage. Once used to make an herbal tea with fennel and cinnamon, it has been in continuous medicinal use since the 1400’s. It has a stronger camphor note than domesticated lavenders, and a more medicinal aroma. European alchemists referred to this plant remedy as Aspic, and used it for many diverse conditions and ailments.
Spike lavender has blood thinning properties, and can be taken internally at proper dilution for this purpose. It is also extremely helpful for skin conditions, including athlete’s foot, ringworm, acne, and fungal infections.
A mild cardiotonic, spike lavender strengthens the heartbeat and raises blood pressure that is too low. It is also a powerful antibacterial antiviral, and antifungal and stimulates the immune system. Its immune enhancing properties make it one of the best diffusion oils for treating symptoms of viral and bacterial infections. Blended with eucalyptuses and other medicinal aromatics, it will make the aroma more pleasing to most people.
I have found it to be a real fast acting acne treatment; place a drop of undiluted spike lavender on the break out or inflamed skin, and leave it over night.
Valerian (Valeriana officianalis)
Source: India, Distillation: Steam distilled of fresh roots
Valerian is a heart oil. It can stop heart spasms and palpitations by applying directly to the chest with broad, circular strokes. It is an antispasmodic, and can ease heart pain very quickly.
Valerian is a relaxant, sedative, and mild tranquilizer. It blends well with neroli or champaca for easing energetic heart reactions. It can be effective for convulsions, spasms, and for relieving insomnia.
Valerian can be taken internally at very low dilutions for strengthening the heart and its energy system. It can also be applied externally for lowering blood pressure.
Valerian can offer energetic support when we are choosing to become more open-hearted in our relationships. It can help uplift consciousness into an unconditional love space, and help us open and connect the heart with any of the other chakras.
Vitex (Vitex agnus castus)
Source: Croatia, Distillation: Steam distilled from wild berries
This essential oil comes from an herbal medicinal that has been in use for over 2,000 years. It is a powerful heart tonic, helping to strengthen the heart and cardiovascular system. It is best known for its wonderful hormone balancing properties. It is helpful for women with symptoms of PMS or menopause, and helps with moodiness, bloating, painful or irregular periods, and water retention.
It has also been found to relieve pain and reduce inflammation associated with fibrocystic disease. It balances estrogen and progesterone, and nourishes the pituitary gland. This oil is a true tonic oil, and can be used for long periods of time without creating non-beneficial effects. It should not be taken internally when using birth control pills, as it can interfere with them.
Yarrow (Achillea millefolia)
Source: Bulgaria, Distillation: Steam distilled from certified organic flowers and aerial parts.
Yarrow is a gentle and effective essential oil. It’s deep blue color is indicative of azulene content, which is a powerful natural anti-inflammatory.
It is a blood cleanser that helps the liver filter toxins and lowers blood pressure. It helps cleanse the liver from heavy metals, petrochemical miasm, and radiation damage.
A great way to use this oil is to apply it (diluted) to the solar plexus and liver area, coating it lightly.
The oil will begin to penetrate at once when applied. Soak a towel in hot water, wring it out, and place it on top of the abdomen where the oil was applied. Cover with another dry towel, and sit or lie still for 10 to 20 minutes while the warmth and moisture drive the essential oil into the body tissues.
This oil can also be used in the bath to detoxify the blood. A few drops will go a long way, so use sparingly. You will feel relaxed and ready to sleep when you come out of the bath!
